When people do things that might not be in line with our expectations, we easily get upset, our expressions differs and deep inside we tend to think "I just can't stand it...", and eventually we even react in anger. Most of the times this situation arises, when your strength is others weakness, when you expect others to behave like you and above all forgetting that it's God that put in that good behavior/talent in you. Remember what the scripture says in Ephesians 2:10 “We are His Workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath ordained that we should walk in them”. If God had ordained all the Good works in us, shouldn’t we know the same God can ordain those Good works in the person we’re dealing with, also remember without the Grace of God (God ordaining in you the Good Works), you might be as weak as the other person. Apparently, I’m not talking about the liberal world here, I’m talking about Christians…, who claim to be born again, who go to church regularly and who even get actively involved in Ministry. Most of them do say that all the good things that they do are from God and it’s for God and it's by His grace they stand. But in reality, when situation arises, they show their carnal nature by acting as if they are good by their own works, they point fingers, get in an argument and at the end walk away in hatred, totally contradictory to what God had called for, which is to LOVE one another. So, what do we do when we come across such people and situations, the answer is remind yourself that you stand in Grace and at the same time ask God's help to deal with the situation. By doing that you enable the Holy Spirit to deal with the situation, in which case the end will be Harmony in Christ instead of hatred. That doesn't mean that when people (known to you) do mistakes or behave unchristian, we have to ignore the situation and keep quiet to save the relationship. What I mean here is that, the right way of dealing with that situation can only be revealed by the Holy Spirit… ie., to Pray, to be patient, to advise, or sometimes to convict with LOVE and CARE.
Things that I've mentioned so far, is not new to a Christian, but remember, when thing go wrong… the pulses go high, tempers flare and the heat of the movement makes you forget who you are and you end-up going the whole 10 yards and latter regretting and falling in your knees asking God's forgiveness. Instead you should be on your knees first and then deal with the situation with God’s help. Many a times it’s this kind of small bruises that breaks relationships, creates divisions in the church and families. So, next time you come across such situation, remember to take a step back and yield to the spirit of God, before you act. Which will in-turn make your light shine out to others and we’ll be fishers of men, just the way God called us. God Bless!
